Summary and Estimated Breakdown of Deposits, Class Donations, and Classics to Keep

This is a copy of the schedule per grade for book deposits, class donations, and consumable book costs, so you can budget ahead for this expense. Book prices are subject to change.

Deposits and Donations

Textbooks will be issued to each student, but they remain the property of the school. A book deposit is required, and the book deposit is refunded at the end of the year if all the textbooks are returned in good condition. If a student misplaces a book, he or she will be charged the full price of the book, which is significantly more than the per-book deposit amount of $20-35.

A Classroom Materials Contribution is requested for each student. These contributions are not required but are essential for the financial health of the school. The classroom materials contribution goes toward field trips, special assemblies, and a stipend for each teacher to purchase additional supplies needed throughout the year. These contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.

*Textbook deposits are fully refundable at the end of the year or can be rolled over from one year to the next and returned upon completion of fifth grade.

Classics to Keep and Singapore Math Packets

Parents are encouraged to purchase the consumable books that the students will be using throughout the school year as well as a Singapore Math Packet. The consumable books include the classics that the students will be reading at each grade level. It is our hope that students will purchase their own books so that they will be able to write in them and begin to develop their own library of classics. We also request that a Singapore Math Packet be purchased for each student. You will receive a letter letting you know which level your student will need. If you purchase the books somewhere besides our virtual bookstore, please purchase the “Standards Edition”.  Purchasing your own Singapore Math Packet will allow you to keep the books from one year to the next for review over the summer and reference during following school years.

We ask that parents make their purchases of the “Classics to Keep”, Singapore Math Packets, and other consumables using either the virtual bookstore at www.archwaychandlerbooks.com or by using the ISBN numbers attached.  Shopping through Amazon with this link is another option. A virtual bookstore will be created at Amazon shortly.

*If you are unable or unwilling to purchase the Classics to Keep and Singapore Math Packets please contact Connie McHenry by July 15^th. The school will purchase books to loan to families and we would like time to have the books shipped to the school before school starts in August.

Community Investment

Archway Chandler is a tuition free public charter school open to everyone regardless of their financial situation. Currently, only 80% of Archway Classical Chandler's budget is fulfilled from the state, thus your donations are vital to the operation and success of the Academy.   We strongly encourage every family to make an annual donation of $1200.00 per student to Archway Classical Chandler’s  Community Investment Campaign.  If that is more than you can give then we ask that each family give what they can.  This campaign addresses the funding gap between the school's per student cost and the state aid given per student.   Archway Classical Chandler is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 corporation and as such, your gifts may be tax-deductible. Donations can be made on a monthly basis by credit card or check.
