Summary and Estimated Breakdown of Deposits and Classics to Keep

This is a copy of the schedule per grade for book deposits and consumable book costs, so you can budget ahead for this expense. Book prices are subject to change.

Deposits

Textbooks will be issued to each student, but they remain the property of the school. A $150.00 book deposit is required, and the book deposit is refunded at the end of the year if all the textbooks are returned in good condition. If a student misplaces a book, he or she will be charged the full price of the book, which is significantly more than the per-book deposit amount of $20-35.

*Textbook deposits are fully refundable at the end of the year or can be rolled over from one year to the next and returned upon completion of fifth grade.

 Classics to Keep

Parents are encouraged to purchase the consumable books that the students will be using throughout the school year. The consumable books include the classics that the students will be reading at each grade level. It is our hope that students will purchase their own books so that they will be able to write in them and begin to develop their own library of classics.

We ask that parents make their purchases of the “Classics to Keep” and other consumables using either the virtual bookstore at Amazon that earns Archway a portion of the revenue or by using the ISBN numbers attached.  Please purchase your books early to ensure delivery before school begins.

Singapore Math and Other Workbooks

Parents are encouraged to purchase a Singapore Math Packet as well as other workbooks for spanish and music.  These books will only be available for purchase at our Archway bookstore in July.  Families with last names beginning with A-M should come to our bookstore on July 30 and families whose last name begins with N-Z should come on July 31. 

7/30 - 9:00am-12:00pm - families with last names starting with A-E

7/30 - 1:00pm-4:00pm   - families with last names starting with F-L

7/31 - 9:00am-12:00pm - families with last names starting with M-R

7/31 - 1:00am-4:00pm   - families with last names starting with S-Z

Supplies

Parents are asked to purchase classroom supplies to be used by their child and to be shared by the classroom. Some of these supplies may be purchased at our Amazon store.  A complete list of supplies requested may be viewed here.  Please bring these supplies to Meet the Teacher night on August 1.

Community Investment

Archway Chandler is a tuition free public charter school open to everyone regardless of their financial situation. Currently, only 80% of Archway Classical Chandler's budget is fulfilled from the state, thus your donations are vital to the operation and success of the Academy.   We strongly encourage every family to make an annual donation of $1200.00 per student to Archway Classical Chandler’s  Community Investment Campaign.  If that is more than you can give then we ask that each family give what they can.  This campaign addresses the funding gap between the school's per student cost and the state aid given per student.   Archway Classical Chandler is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 corporation and as such, your gifts may be tax-deductible. Donations can be made on a monthly basis by credit card or check.
